Frequently Asked Questions
Get answers to common questions about Lips Waxing.
Most clients enjoy smoothness for two to six weeks, depending on individual hair growth and skincare routine. Regular waxing can lengthen intervals as hair becomes finer. Touch-ups are recommended when regrowth becomes noticeable to maintain a clean appearance.
Some discomfort is normal, but waxing is quick; pain is brief and often less than repeated plucking. Our technicians use gentle techniques and pre-wax soothing to reduce sensitivity. Numbing options can be discussed for highly sensitive clients.
Avoid exfoliating or using retinol for at least 48 hours before your appointment. Ensure skin is clean and dry, and avoid heavy creams or makeup. If you’re on topical medications or have sensitive skin, inform your therapist for personalized preparation.
Mild redness, sensitivity, or tiny bumps are common for a few hours after waxing. They typically settle with cooling gel or aloe. Rarely, temporary irritation or ingrown hairs may occur; follow post-care instructions and contact us if reactions persist.
It’s best to pause strong actives like retinoids and chemical exfoliants for 48-72 hours before and after waxing to avoid heightened irritation. Gentle moisturizers are fine, but always disclose your skincare routine so we can tailor treatment and aftercare.
Wait at least 24 hours before applying lip makeup to reduce infection and irritation risk. If redness subsides sooner and skin feels calm, light, clean products are acceptable. Use clean applicators and avoid heavy, fragranced products immediately after waxing.
